Senior peers are
volunteers who are trained, sensitive and patient communicators who
help other seniors cope with irreversible losses, lifestyle changes,
loneliness, stress, relocation and the complexities of aging.
Nanaimo Family Life
has a team of more than 25 trained male and female volunteer
counsellors who are 60 years of age or older.
The
Senior Peer Program provides the following services to seniors:
