Nanaimo Family Life Association is governed by a policy-making Board. The Board members are responsible for ensuring that the legal and ethical standards of NFLA are being met. Board members determine NFLA’s purpose and philosophy, determine short and long range goals for the agency, and determine all policies. Board members make decisions regarding NFLA governance, direction, program planning and allocation of funds.
The Board of Directors meets approximately ten times a year to conduct affairs of the Society. In addition, each Board member is expected to serve on at least one committee, as needed. Meetings and associated activities may therefore take 2-5 hours a month of a member’s time.
