Volunteer with Safe Seniors, Strong Communities

We are currently needing volunteers for our Safe Seniors, Strong Communities program. Please note, all volunteers are required to complete a criminal record check.

The SSSC program was created in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, with aims to support isolated, at-risk seniors during these hard times. The SSSC program provides help with grocery shopping, meal delivery, prescription pick ups, and friendly visiting phone calls.

Be a Grocery Shopper/Meal Delivery Volunteer:

If you have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, we would love to have you as grocery shopper/meal delivery volunteer.

Our grocery shopping program runs 3 days/week. Volunteer for one shop a week or help out with them all. The shops typically are scheduled 11-12 pm. The schedule is below:

Tuesdays: Dufferin Country Grocer

Thursdays: Superstore

Fridays: Country Club Save on Foods

Our meal delivery program runs once/week. Deliver frozen, comfort-food classics to isolated seniors on Thursdays.
