Here are our current volunteer opportunities:

Apply to Volunteer

Volunteer Counsellor

Support your community by becoming a Volunteer Counsellor! Our program offers intensive training (valued at $2,250, participant cost $400) to 12 committed individuals from diverse backgrounds each year. After training, you’ll give back 100 hours of counselling service, helping make mental health support accessible and affordable for all.

Requirements: Completion of VIU’s Level 1 & 2 Counselling Training (or equivalent 48 hrs of counselling training). If you don’t have the prerequisites, contact the coordinator at a_​finnamore@​nflabc.​org.

💡 Training attendance is mandatory. If you miss a session due to illness, you’ll be offered a spot in the next cohort.

Senior Peer Counsellor

Looking for a meaningful way to give back?

If you are 55 + and have a background in counselling, social services, a helping profession, or an education in counselling/​psychology, we need you in our Senior Peer Counselling program. Your experience and empathy can make a real difference. Training and ongoing support provided

Transporation Assistance
Help seniors stay connected by providing rides to medical appointments and assisting with grocery shopping. Your kindness ensures they receive essential care and supplies.
